Only HTC HD2 will be upgraded to Windows Mobile 7

HTC leads an active work on Twitter and publishes important information from time to time. None of the existing communicators, except HD2, will be upgraded to Windows Mobile 7.
HTC HD2 uses a large capacitive screen and a powerful 1-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This corresponds to specifications Microsoft prepared for WM7. The operating system is optimized for multitouch-management and capacitive screen will be a mandatory requirement. If this is confirmed, popular Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 will remain on Windows Mobile 6.5.
